3rd MaTH-Challenge Prize Problems
3rd MATH-CHALLENGE PRIZE PROBLEMS
In order to stimulate mathematical research among students, the 3rd MaTH-Challenge Prize Problems (under the auspices of Dr. Bernard Bainson and Dr. Jeffery Ezearn, with the cooperation of several academics in the department) is being organised. These mathematical problems and the prizes have been designed to encourage mathematical activity and introduce students to some of the most worthwhile ideas in mathematics, with particular emphasis on logical deduction and rigorous demonstration of mathematical results. In this edition of the prize problems, we join mathematicians around the world to celebrate the International Day of Mathematics, which falls on Sunday, 14th of March, 2021..
There problems are open to all undergraduates in the departments of Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science.
The Prize Problems (in Pure Mathematics) and the Rules governing the prizes can be found in the links below.
The prize per problem at the elementary problem is GHC 100.00; it is GHC 200 for the intermediate problem, and GHC 300 for the advanced problem.
